Board of Directors

Andrew Bulmer Chairman of the Board

Andrew is the President of the Canadian business unit for Active International, an innovative global media services company. Under Andrew’s leadership Active Canada has doubled their business in Canada. Active Canada has also been recognized as a Globe and Mail Employee Recommended Workplace for the past three years. Prior to joining Active International, Andrew served in senior leadership positions building business for iconic global brands in Canada and the USA for Molson Coors, Red Bull and Grand and Toy – OfficeMax.

Michael Abbott Director

Mr. Abbott co-founded CannTx in 2013. As VP of Sales for a major Canadian brewery for many years, Mike provides CannTx with extensive experience in regulatory compliance as well as a focus on excellent customer relationships. Mike regularly volunteers in the local Kitchener/Waterloo community and has served as a longstanding member of Board of Directors for Kitchener Waterloo Oktoberfest.

Buck Young Director

Mr. Young co-founded CannTx in 2013 after extensively studying the Cannabis industry and its potential. Buck graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from McMaster and studied at Osgoode Hall Law School under Prof. Alan Young. Buck prepared the evidentiary record for a proposed Charter challenge to the MMAR and participated in Health Canada consultations in the development of the MMPR.

Michael Swartz Director

Michael is a retired bank executive with an extensive background in Commercial, Corporate and Investment banking in both Canadian and U.S. markets. He has held executive leadership positions in his 25-year career with TD Bank and has broad financial experience as a commercial finance company owner and corporate finance advisor. Michael has extensive Board experience, with key roles in financial oversight as well as identifying and implementing growth strategies for national-scale organizations such as Diabetes Canada, the National Diabetes Trust, and Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga

Randall Smallbone Director

Randall is a financial executive with more than 35 years of operations experience in global manufacturing of consumer goods, contract manufacturing, automotive and aerospace parts. He has significant experience in financial management, capital markets, M&A, Investor relations and board governance. He has served as Chief Financial Officer of several TSX listed companies, as well as acting as Board member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of TSX listed companies. Randall is currently President, CEO and Director of Astron Connect Inc, a TSX-V Listed company (AST).

Guy P. Dancosse, Q.C., ICD.D., CIRC Director

Guy has extensive experience in Commercial Arbitration, both nationally and internationally, in many areas of business, including the public sector. He is part of the International Chamber of Commerce's {ICC Paris) Canadian Panel of Commercial Arbitrators, and has pleaded before all Canadian Tribunals, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Further, he has headed Task Forces and Inquiry Commissions in Canada on matters regarding naval pilotage in the St-Lawrence river and Native Land claims. He also presided on international missions for World Bank, inter alia in Tchad, and in Tanzania. Guy is intricately familiar with the Cannabis legal framework and commercial environment in Canada, and good corporate management therein. He also sits on the Board of Directors of numerous private and public companies and has extensive experience as a Corporate Director.
